Atlanta’s newly reopened Hotel Clermont presents a sneak peek inside Atlanta’s legendary Clermont Lounge, where there is a strict no cameras policy.
The Clermont Lounge and its David Lynch-esque ambiance have remained unchanged for the past 50 years and maintaining the integrity of the lounge was of utmost importance to the team behind the hotel’s renovations. Prior to the re-opening of the hotel, the stars of the lounge allowed Paris-based photographer Cyril Bailleul to capture them in their essence, resulting in an exhibition that is all about the ladies who make the lounge possible.
These women, who range in age from 25 to 70, are the heart and soul of the lounge. They were photographed using only the light emanating from the lounge’s jukebox, neon signs and more. The women established a relationship and friendship with the photographer, letting their beauty and personality be captured without any false modesty. The photographs have not been retouched and yet they reveal extremely sexy bodies...far different from the stereotypical magazine models and what is typically considered beautiful.
“Above Where the Ladies Dance, hosted by Hotel Clermont,” located in the lobby salons at the hotel, celebrates these women’s unique bodies: voluptuous, laughing, wrinkled, and beautiful.
There's ticketing for the opening reception of the ACP exhibition at Hotel Clermont, on Monday, October 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. For $20, attendees will receive a first look at the exhibition and a complimentary beer or wine at the hotel’s lobby lounge. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Poncey-Highland Neighborhood Association.
