ACP Special Exhibition: The Art of Motion Picture Still Photography

Westside Cultural Arts Center

Featuring work by: Society for Motion Picture Still Photographers Members

Tickets: ACPinfo.org/tickets

SMPSP stands for "Society for Motion Picture Still Photographers." Otherwise known as "unit photographers", these artists capture moments amid a film set's chaos, document behind the scenes and create publicity shots that get seen by millions. Often, the iconic image from a film we conjure up from our memory is a still photograph taken by one of these photographers, and doesn't appear in the film at all!

The important role of these men and women are recognized by the SMPSP, which promotes the "archival preservation of still pictures shot during the production of motion pictures for their historical and cultural importance."

Join us as we celebrate the exciting world of filmmaking, and the unique perspectives of these photographers in the first-ever exhibition celebrating SMPSP in Atlanta.
