Atlanta-based photographer Sky Kim returns to Callanwolde for his second solo exhibition. This show includes works from three series of Kim's photographs:
"han"
"35th days in september"
"vol iv"
Artist statement:
“Han” is an emotion described as a mysterious and complex feeling of Koreans, which is embedded in their souls over thousands of years. It is sadness, a sense of bitterness, deep sorrow, and yet there is still hope. Han is an inherent characteristic of the Korean people and as such finds expression in nearly every aspect of Korean life and culture. The theme of the Han series illustrates this mystery of soul with traditional Korean dance performance in order to express the affection and strength of ordinary Korean people’s life and spirit.
